General Motors Teams Up With Google

by Domestic Car Dealer News on May 21, 2010

Earlier this year, General Motors unveiled a new application for mobile devices that would allow owners of the upcoming Chevrolet Volt to control of a number of the car’s features and monitor the battery via their phones. Now, GM is taking that concept a step further, by partnering with Google to also include advanced navigation features.

The new application with Google Maps navigation will be available on Android handsets, such as the Motorola Droid and HTC Droid Incredible. Livonia Chevrolet points out that this new application will work seamless with the turn-by-turn directions provided via the onboard OnStar system.

Google’s voice-based search, mapping and routing functions, will likely be a boon to in-car communications, particularly if they help drivers stay safer behind the wheel.

“Of course, there are almost innumerable things we can do, but the more we can do before they get into the car, the safer they are,” said Chris Preuss, president of OnStar.

Used Ford Focus Ad Touts Reliability And Lack Of Speed

by Domestic Car Dealer News on April 9, 2010

Used cars often provide excellent cars for teen drivers. Parents typically gravitate towards used cars because they enable teens and parents to save a little bit of cash, but they’re also great because pre-owned vehicles are most suitable for the rigors and wear and tear of teens when compared to a shiny new car.

But one important aspect of a teen’s first car that concerns parents is of course safety. In one ad for a 2002 Ford Focus, the advertisement naturally touts the car’s reliability and highlights various features, but it also explains that the car is very safe for a teen driver due to its speed – or rather lack thereof. While dealers of Boise used cars of other pre-owned car dealerships tend to use a little more tact in their advertisements, this ad from Craigslist certainly does an excellent job conveying the Focus’ unique advantages.

Click the image to enlarge the ad, and see why this Ford Focus posting is both informative and absolutely hilarious.

Chevrolet Cobalt Delivers Impressive Package

by Domestic Car Dealer News on December 22, 2009

The Chevrolet Cobalt offers a competitive package for would-be compact car buyers. The Chevrolet Cobalt XFE offers outstanding fuel economy, the mid range model offers excellent handling with a balanced chassis, and there’s even a turbo-charged version for ultimate performance. In addition to providing such a well-rounded model lineup, the Chevrolet Cobalt also delivers value, which makes plenty of difference these days.

The aforementioned XFE model Chevy Cobalt provides some of the best fuel economy numbers in its class. Fuel economy is rated at 25 miles per gallon in the city and 37 mpg on the highway when equipped with a five-speed manual. These are excellent numbers says Rome Chevrolet dealers, and fuel costs and fuel economy playing a huge role in the car buying process, plenty of buyers will soon discover that Chevrolet is capable of providing an affordable, fuel-efficient car.

With competitive fuel economy and a base price well below the $20,000 mark, don’t expect the Cobalt to be a stripped-down, boring economy car. The Cobalt still delivers an excellent ride, not to mention featuring other key features such as a leather wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, and a quality sound system.

Quality was a major concern for GM when developing the Chevrolet Cobalt, and it certainly shows. The interior design is not only attractive, but fit and finish is suburb when compared to other domestics in the segment. Although the level of refinement is not quite on the scale of other models in its class according to Chevy Cobalt Memphis shoppers, the interior still possesses quality materials that give a hint of quality and upscale aesthetics.

Overall, the Chevrolet Cobalt makes for a great daily commuter, which many Massachusetts Chevrolet dealer customers have already discovered. Fuel economy, value, and build quality all add to the Cobalt’s appeal as one of the best domestic compact cars on the road. If you’re looking for excellent gas mileage, or even cheap speed, the Cobalt lineup has it all.
