Chevy Ad Account Changes Agencies… Again

by Domestic Car Dealer News on May 21, 2010

Just weeks after announcing that the $600+ million ad account would go from Campbell-Ewald to Publicis Worldwide, GM’s new marketing chief changed agencies once again.

GM’s new VP of Marketing, Joel Ewanick, formerly Hyundai’s CMO, made the decision to switch the account to Goodby, Silverstein & Partners just weeks into the job. The new agency has worked with Hyundai and Porsche Cars North America. Some visiting Pinconning Chevrolet are sad to see Campbell-Ewald go, which has serviced the Chevy ad account since 1919. But with the creative strength of Goodby, the move could give the brand a much needed rejuvenation.

“Based on my personal experience working with Goodby, Silverstein and Partners, I’m confident they have the creativity and ability to take the iconic Chevrolet brand to the next level – and to do it fast,” Ewanick said in a statement.
